The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle
My thoughts 🧠
One of the first books that intrigued my search for the meaning of life, the truest purpose in life was a book by Eckhart Tolle “ The Power of Now” . Honestly, this book is a true treasure, it brings a new meaning every time I pick it up. The understanding of the reader would be based on their level of consciousness and that is the reason why it varies in level of meaning from time to time. The word enlightenment which is dread by many is explained in the simplest form. Tolle explains neatly how the mind a superb instrument when used wrongly can be destructive to oneself. Watching ones’ thoughts can make a person mindful and disables the power of the mind in which the ego is identified. Then a sense of realization occurs, conscious presence, arises beyond the mind and this raises your vibrational frequency. He provides examples of ways we could use to disidentify ourselves from our mind. He explained that about 80% of people have repetitive thoughts that are harmful and causes a serious leak of vital energy. The present moment holds the key to liberation, Tolle reinforces. He describes ‘presence’ that breaks the habit of the pain body. Tolle describes the identities of the ego and how stepping out of it in ‘presence’ enables you to find your true self. He describes having access to the formless realm which is truly liberating. Lastly in your daily practice, feel your inner being, a deep sense of peace and stillness always there despite of the circumstance that you are engaged in. This is the state of connectedness with the Source that we call enlightenment. ( this should be felt ) Hope that this would have surfaced interest in you to read this book.
